Shiatsu is an ancient Japanese pressure massage, where the practitioner uses fingers, hands, feet, elbows and knees to stretch out your body in order to release energy and create well-being. Traditionally Chinese and later more firmly established as Japanese it's based on balancing the energy (chi) in the body by applying pressure and releasing areas of blockage.
Shiatsu is a wonderful way to stretch out your body and release stress and tension that can occur in pregnancy as well as every day life. Amongst other things, it also helps with the following conditions: Back pain, asthma, insomnia, depression, anxiety and rheumatism. It also helps to boost the body's immune system. Loose clothing must be worn for this massage and it is performed on the floor with pillows, blankets and a duvet.
